The new state-of-the-art facility will produce DDW’s new EmulsiTech™ color emulsions. Using cutting-edge emulsion technology, DDW converts oil soluble sources, such as beta-carotene and paprika, into water dispersible form, making them suitable for coloring beverages, soup, ice cream, yogurt, confections, baked goods and more. With EmulsiTech™, product developers can formulate with easy-to-use, natural colorings for clear or opaque applications. In addition to manufacturing, the facility also houses a pilot plant, cold storage and offices.
“The new site enables DDW to produce an even broader portfolio of food coloring in the yellow, orange and red spectrum for customers,” said Elaine Gravatte, president and chief operating officer. “The opening of a natural color manufacturing site in Ireland back in April also speaks to our continued momentum as we celebrate our company’s 150-year anniversary,” she added.
