Responsible for guiding, developing, monitoring and implementing corporate safety and environmental policies and programs. The EHS Manager will provide support companywide at all North American locations to ensure a safe and healthful workplace while maintaining compliance with all safety, health and environmental regulations and policies.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence across a diverse range of people from Corporate leadership to a factory floor associate. Effective verbal and written communication skills including analytical skills for summarizing and presenting data in a logical, clear and concise manner.
  • Lead the process safety management processes for the Americas Region (Process Hazard Analysis, Training, Contractor Management, Management of Change, Incident Investigation) — ensuring appropriate reviews are conducted, documented and communicated.
  • Implement DDW Safety Standards. This includes the development, updating and implementation of site-specific programs, policies, and procedures as well as development of any required training programs.
  • Monitor the monthly safety audit process — ensuring that all audits are completed and properly documented.
  • Manage the monthly Safety and Environmental metrics and reporting for the Americas Region.
  • Ensure execution of routine audits of safe work management systems, especially life critical standards (LOTO, Hot Work, Elevated Work, etc..).
  • Drive improvement in behavior-based observation systems and culture. Partner with the management team in creating a workplace atmosphere that encourages employee engagement in driving a positive safety culture
  • Assist in the safety evaluation of new projects and ventures; evaluate and recommend actions to improve safety performance and to reduce risk. Participate in any process safety
  • Knowledgeable of occupational safety programs, including behavioral based safety management, incident reporting, job task surveys, ergonomics; and, able to recognize health and industrial hygiene issues.
  • Familiar with process safety management systems, including MOC and other elements of the OSHA PSM standard. Working familiarity with the technical aspects of process safety — P&lDs, interlocks (SIS), emergency relief systems, suppression systems, etc.
  • Conduct physical, documented inspections of all work areas focusing on the identification of at-risk conditions and behaviors.
  • Perform regular leading indicators assessments to proactively identify negative trends and recommend corrective action before a loss occurs.
  • Assist facilities with incident investigations and root cause analysis corrective action plans and corrective action implementation.
  • Identify training needs and develop on-going employee training programs, Emergency Contingency Plan, written safety communications, policies and procedures.
  • Working through the site leadership teams, ensure required ESH training is conducted and records are up to date.
