Management Accountant

Purpose:

Reporting to the Finance Director, responsible for all day to day accounting activity, including preparation of monthly management accounts, ad hoc analysis for the Finance Director, supervision of AR & AP functions and various VAT & import/export compliance related matters. Works closely with management team and other associates to provide financial analysis and guidance to help promote revenue growth and maximize profits. Ensures a continuous improvement focus, evaluates business situations to identify improvement ideas and support project prioritization and completion.

Principle Responsibilities: 

  • Uphold DDW’s Mission Statement, Quality Policy, Values and Beliefs.
  • Preparation of Cash Flow Forecasts and tracking/analysis of same.
  • Manage new/existing customer accounts including credit limits and payment timeliness.
  • Provide accurate, timely monthly financial reports and related analysis.
  • Monitor business performance by investigating financial trends and financial statement variances. Communicate findings to other associates.
  • Maintain product costs to enable accurate inventory valuation and product margin analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax authorities and government reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all VAT & import/export related matters.
  • Assist in preparation of the annual Budget. Monitor monthly progress against the
  • Budget and the business plan. Help identify margin offsets if/as required.
  • Lead the annual audit by preparing audit schedules and reports as required; liaise with the local audit team.
  • Maintain relevant records to track fixed assets and various depreciation schedules for financial reporting, tax compliance and insurance program.
  • Other tasks as reasonably required by the Finance Director.

Skills Requirements:

  • Knowledgeable and experienced (prefer 3-5 years) in accounting, finance and tax planning.
  • Minimum AAT, preferably studying CIMA or equiv.
  • Managing others – 2 Accounts Assistants reporting directly
  • Defined plan to obtain professional qualifications.
  • Computer literate.
  • Possesses good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong learner, demonstrated ability to stay current with laws, trends and improvements in the field.
